Northpoint’s Story
Who We Are
A small group of people in recovery once spiraled downwards as they battled substance use. These people all felt the hopelessness, shame, and isolation of hitting rock bottom at some point. Similar to other people, they felt that their addiction was because of a lack of self-control or willpower. However, they eventually got into contact with support groups and specialists that helped them change their perspectives.
These specialists challenged these people to overcome their dependence on drugs and alcohol and address the psychological factors of their addiction. This challenge set this small group of people on the road to recovery and led them to create Northpoint’s treatment philosophy and, eventually, Northpoint Colorado.Â
Today, the small group of people who founded Northpoint act as a testimony to the fact that it is possible to live a sober, healthy, and happy life. Our founders appreciate the fact that they are fortunate to have overcome their addictions and can live to provide help and hope to those fighting their own substance use disorders.Â
Since the first Northpoint treatment center opened its doors in 2009, eight other Northpoint locations have spread across the Pacific Northwest. These treatment centers continue to provide hope for those battling addiction and mental health disorders. Northpoint Colorado is here to offer our clients the healing and support they need to overcome their addictions.
We are all here for the same reason…to provide quality care to those seeking help. It has always been the top priority of Northpoint since I have been employed here, which is why I stick around. Saving lives and restoring relationships is embedded in our work, that means a great deal to me, and I know it does to the teams I get to work alongside as well.

Our Mission
Since our founding in 2015, we have expanded to include a dynamic range of mental health and adolescent services, spanning four states, fifteen facilities, and growing. Like all great companies, we evaluate our business on a regular basis and calibrate to our core values and our mission, as we serve our patient’s physical health, mental health, and addiction recovery needs. The Northpoint Core Values and Purpose is a doctrine we live by and, since its inception, has included a general treatment philosophy grounded in abstinence-based principles, meaning free from use of habit-forming medications upon discharge. We have historically defined what we do as follows:
“We deliver a safe, supportive environment for abstinence-based treatment of addiction and improved mental health.”
To determine the most evidence-based approach, we will continue to rely on our expert Interdisciplinary team of medical and psychiatric providers, nurses, clinicians, and caring support staff to thoroughly understand the individual needs of our patients. We are also mindful to adhere to state legislative requirements that influence treatment plans, discharge options, and risk factors. To avoid any unspoken assumptions or confusion, we believe it is important to be forthright in our efforts to expand our philosophy to allow for Medication Assisted Treatment approaches, where appropriate, as there is now abundant evidence about what is proven to be effective. This does not mean that we are moving towards becoming a Suboxone clinic, a pain management clinic, or any other loosely associated reason to use potentially controversial medications. It does mean that we do what works in providing safe, highly individualized care, and in doing right by every patient. We are moving forward with a refined definition of what we do as follows:
“We deliver a safe, supportive environment for recovery from addiction and improved mental health.”

Northpoint Colorado's Treatment Programs
At Northpoint Colorado, we provide in-house treatment for substance use disorders, mental health needs, and conditions requiring medical care. Almost half of the people we help at Northpoint Colorado have a co-occurring mental health condition, such as anxiety or depression. Therefore, we are proud to take an integrated approach to addiction recovery. We focus not only on the physical challenges of addiction but also on its root causes, such as the underlying psychological conditions.
In addition to providing treatment for co-occurring disorders, we also provide a comprehensive continuum of care. For instance, when patients first enroll in our programs, we may recommend our inpatient detox center. Inpatient detox allows clients to stay in a safe environment as they receive around-the-clock support from our medical team. They can also receive prescription medication to ease withdrawal symptoms.Â
Once clients have completed detox, we may recommend that they continue to remain in our inpatient rehab. There, they will not have to deal with the triggers and temptations to use the substance again.
If clients are unable to attend an inpatient treatment program, we may recommend attending one of our outpatient treatment options. We provide both partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs, which we tailor to the needs of the patient. These options offer a range of benefits, such as:
- A schedule that can accommodate work, school, and home responsibilities
- Patients can stay at home and return to our treatment center for care
- Virtual IOP options available
